音楽にかける青春 アンナ・パウロヴァー（クラリネット奏者） ’Now I cannot imagine my life without clarinet’ Anna Paulová
音楽の都プラハ。この街でチェコ人の若い女性クラリネット奏者アンナ・パウロヴァーさんは暮らしています。この春、プラハで行われたプラハの春・国際クラリネットコンクールでは二位に輝きました。まだ21歳の音楽学生ですが、素晴らしい演奏をしています。将来の期待できる新人です。今回、パウロヴァーさんにインタビューを行いました。
Anna Paulova lives in Praha, the city of music. She got second prize in an international clarinet contest at Praha this May. She has big talent and has a bright future as a soloist. Then I interviewed her about her life with music and clarinet.
Q Please let me know about the town where you live.
A I live in Prague and I study also there. It is a very nice city. Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Many world-known personalities lived or spent some time in Prague, e.g. Mozart, Beethoven, Einstein etc. And many famous personalities visited Prague such as the Pope, George Busch, Queen Elizabeth II. etc.
Q あなたの住んでいる街について教えてください。
A 私が住んでいるのはプラハです。音楽の勉強をしたのもこの街です。とても素敵な街です。チェコの首都で、チェコで最大の都市です。世界的に名を知られる多くの人々がプラハで人生のひとときを過ごしています。モーツァルト、ベートーヴェン、アインシュタインなどなど。さらに、ローマ法王やブッシュ大統領、エリザベス2世といった人々もプラハを訪れました。
The city is traditionally one of the cultural centres of Europe, hosting many cultural events. Some of the significant cultural institutions include the National Theatre (Narodni Divadlo) and the Estates Theatre (Stavovske or Tylovo or Nosticovo divadlo), where the premieres of Mozart's Don Giovanni and La clemenza di Tito were held. Other major cultural institutions are the Rudolfinum which is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Municipal House which is home to the Prague Symphony Orchestra. The Prague State Opera (Stani opera) performs at the Smetana Theatre.
この街は昔から欧州の文化の中心の１つで、多くの文化的なイベントが催されています。国立劇場やエステート劇場などはそのための重要な施設です。エステート劇場ではかつてモーツァルトの「ドン・ジョバンニ」や「皇帝ティートの慈悲」が初演されました。またルドルフィヌムはチェコフィルハーモニーオーケストラの拠点です。プラハ市民会館 はプラハシンフォニーオーケストラの拠点です。そしてプラハ国立オペラがスメタナ劇場で催しを行っています。
There are hundreds of concert halls, galleries, cinemas and music clubs in the city. It hosts music festivals including the Prague Spring International Music Festival, the Dvorak Prague International Music Festival, the Prague International Organ Festival and the Prague International Jazz Festival.
この街には何百ものコンサートホールやギャラリー、映画館や音楽クラブがあります。プラハの春国際音楽祭やドヴォルザーク国際音楽フェスティバル、プラハ国際オルガンフェスティバル、プラハ国際ジャズフェスティバルなどもあります。
2) When did you begin to play clarinet and why ?
In early childhood I heard my brother how he was practicing the piano, recorder and clarinet. I started going to the primary school for the arts in Zbraslav and I began playing the recorder and piano at the age of five. My teacher Karel Mezera is clarinet player. When I played the recorder a lot of things, I tried to play the clarinet. I began playing the clarinet at the age of eleven. At first I imagined the clarinet as the instrument for men, but then I heard the clarinetists Ludmila Peterkova, Sharon Kam and Sabine Meyer. Their playing fascinated me. I said to myself: I would like to play like them! At now I cannot imagine my life without the clarinet.
Q クラリネットを始めたのはいつですか？またなぜだったんでしょうか？
A まだ小さかった子供時代に兄がピアノ、リコーダー、そしてクラリネットを演奏しているのを聞いていました。Zbraslavの芸術小学校に通った時、5歳でピアノとリコーダーを習い始めました。私を教えてくれたKarel Mezera先生はクラリネットの演奏家でした。リコーダーは随分吹いたので、11歳になるとクラリネットを始めたんです。最初はクラリネットは男性向けの楽器のように思っていたのですが、Ludmila Peterkova, Sharon Kam 、 Sabine Meyer といった女性のクラリネットの演奏家について知りました。彼女たちの演奏に私はすっかり魅了されたのです。私も彼女たちのようになろう、そう決意しました。今ではクラリネットのない人生は考えられません。
Q How did you develop your music ? Who taught you ? What did you learn ?
A I began playing the clarinet at the age of eleven with Karel Mezera. In 2009 I entered the Prague Conservatory, studying with Prof. Milan Polak and Prof. Ludmila Peterkova. Subsequently I received private lessons with Prof. Jiri Hlavac at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (since 2010). At present, I am a student in the clarinet class of Prof. Jiri Hlavac and Prof. Vlastimil Mares at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

A 私はKarel Mezera先生のもとで11歳でクラリネットを習い始めたのですが、2009年にプラハの音楽院に入学しました。ここでMilan Polak 教授と Ludmila Peterkova教授の指導を受けました。また、翌年からJiri Hlavac教授のレッスンもプラハ芸術アカデミーで受けるようになりました。今はこの学校でさらにVlastimil Mares教授にも教わっています。
I have also attended master classes given by such figures (Philippe Berrod, Paul Meyer, Michel Lethiec, Wenzel Fuchs, Sabine Meyer, Reiner Wehle, Karl Leister, Shirley Brill, Francois Benda, Michael Rusinek, Franck Amet, Jan Jakub Bokun, Philippe Cuper).
私はそのほか、Berrod, Paul Meyer, Michel Lethiec, Wenzel Fuchs, Sabine Meyer, Reiner Wehle, Karl Leister, Shirley Brill, Francois Benda, Michael Rusinek, Franck Amet, Jan Jakub Bokun, Philippe Cuperといった先生たちによるマスタークラスに出席しました。
I have attended the International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna- Budapest ISA- Austria (Sharon Kam, Jiri Hlvac) and the International Clarinet Festival Clarimania 2011 in Wroclaw. I have participated in master class with Prof. Franck Amet at Conservatoire a rayonnement regional de Paris (2012), the Summer Campus 2013 in Rostock- Germany (Prof. Shirley Brill) and the Dartington International Summer School 2014 in United Kingdom (Prof. Chen Halevi).
Participation at the courses brought me the great inspiration and motivation for further work.
また、プラハ・ウィーン・ブダペスト・オーストリアの夏期の国際音楽講習に参加しました。2011年にポーランドのヴロツワフで国際クラリネットフェスティバル Clarimaniaにも参加しました。2012年にはパリのrayonnement regional の音楽院でFranck Amet教授によるマスタークラスに参加しました。2013年にはドイツのロストクの夏期講習にも参加しました。2014年には英国のダーティントン国際夏期講習にも参加しました。
こうした様々な機会に参加することで多大なインスピレーションを受けることができ、将来に向けたモチベーションを得ることができるんです。
Q What do you think about clarinet as an instrument ?
A Clarinet is a wonderful musical instrument. He has a very wide variety of colors and moods. Clarinet can express almost every mood and frame of mind. And his sound is also very similar to human voice.
Q クラリネットはどんな楽器ですか？
A クラリネットは素晴らしい楽器です。非常に多彩な色彩と雰囲気を持っています。クラリネットはあらゆる感情や心の動きを表現できます。その音色は人間の声によく似ています。
Today, the clarinet is commonly used in classical music (such as concert bands, orchestras, chamber music, and solo repertoire), military bands, marching bands, klezmer, and jazz. It is a standard part of chamber and symphonic orchestras and plays an important role in many musical genres: classical music, jazz, brass band, folk and more.
Clarinet can have very annoying sound that you need to cover your ears but he can have also very soft, delicate and velvety sound.
今日、クラリネットはクラシック音楽（コンサートバンド、オーケストラ、室内楽、独奏など）や軍楽隊、マーチングバンド、クレズマー（東欧系ユダヤ人の伝統音楽）、そしてジャズなど幅広く用いられています。室内楽やオーケストラではクラリネットは欠かせません。そして様々なジャンルの音楽で重要なパートを受け持っています。クラシック、吹奏楽、フォーク音楽などなど。
クラリネットには耳を塞ぎたくなるような不快な音も出せますし、とても優しく、繊細でビロードのようななめらかな音も出せます。

A I very like W. A. Mozart: Clarinet Concerto in A major KV 622, C. M. von Weber: Clarinet concertos, J. Brahms: Clarinet sonatas, C. Debussy: Premiere Rhapsodie, A. Copland: Clarinet Concerto, F. Poulenc: Sonata and contemporary music.
Q 楽曲ではどんなものがお好きですか？
A 私が特に好きな曲はモーツァルトのクラリネット協奏曲KV６２２、、ウェーバーのクラリネット協奏曲、ブラームスのクラリネットソナタ、ドビュッシーの第一狂詩曲、コープランドのクラリネット協奏曲、フランシス・プーランクのソナタや現代音楽です。
Q Please let me know about your concert.
A 30th of September I will perform at the Young Prague Music Festival. I will play A. Copland. Clarinet Concerto with the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice and Canadian conductor Nicolas Ellis.

In November I will perform with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, I will play W. A. Mozart. Clarinet Concerto. And for example in January 2016 I will play at the Czech Chamber Music Society of Czech Philharmonic and I will also play with guitarist Lubomir Brabec and violinist Jan Mracek.
Q これから行うコンサートについて教えてください。
A 9月30日に青年プラハ音楽フェスティバルで演奏する予定です。コープランドのクラリネット協奏曲を北チェコフィルハーモニックtepliceと演奏します。指揮者はカナダ人のニコラス・エリスです。11月にはチェコ室内フィルハーモニーPardubiceとモーツァルトのクラリネット協奏曲の演奏をします。来年の1月にはチェコフィルのチェコ室内音楽協会やギタリストのLubomir BrabecやバイオリニストのJan Mracekと共演します。
