英グリーンピースが日立が輸出する原発の建設反対など署名を呼びかけ

　英国グリーンピースが、日立が輸出を計画しているウェールズのウィルヴァ・ニューイッド原発計画を含む新規原発建設に対する反対署名を進めています。アイルランド在住の市民運動家おおくらじゅんこさんからの呼びかけを紹介します。日本からの署名できます。（大野和興）

英国政府は、環境面のみならず、財政的な面からいっても無謀という声が多数出ているにも関わらず、新規原発建設計画を進めています。その中でもっとも強力に推し進められているのが、日立が輸出を計画している（現地事業者は日立の100%子会社ホライズン）ウェールズのウィルヴァ・ニューイッド原発計画です。　
　
福島原発事故以降、国内での新規建設や再稼動が思うように進められない原子力産業は、輸出に活路を見出そうとしています。日立は、「リスクが大きいようなら撤退する」と"撤退カード”を散らすかせ、日英両政府に巨額の資金面でのテコ入れを求めてきました。　
　
日本政府はこの原発輸出に諸手挙げて支援するでしょうが、英国保守党政府も、これまでの電力民間企業に公的資金は投入しないという原則を180度転換し、債務保証のみならず直接投資にまで行おうとしています。また、日立は事故が起こった際の費用負担もしなくてすむように交渉しているといわれますが、その内容は明らかにされていません。　
一方で、再生可能エネルギーへの補助金を削減するなど、英国政府は異様なほどの原子力への執着を見せています。最大野党の労働党も、「雇用創出」を理由に原発建設に賛成しており、反対の声はなかなか表に広まりません。　
　
でも、なんとか建設工事が始まる前に阻止したい。　
原爆と福島事故の惨禍を知る日本からも、ぜひ反対運動への支援をお願いします。　
　
私自身、先月半ばにアングルシー島を訪問しました。島のぐるりは美しい砂浜やヨットハーバー、内陸は牧草地に緑の風が吹き渡る、とても美しい島です。人々も、穏やかでとてもフレンドリーでした。　
日立・ホライズンは、資金援助を日英政府に求めつつ、PR面では巨額の費用を投じています（地域の施設への資金援助・イベントの後援・学校への出張授業）。日本の原発立地に見られた汚い地域コミュニティ分断工作が、ここアングルシー島でも行われるのかと思うと胸が痛みます。

Hitachi have demanded public money to build the new Wylfa nuclear plant on Anglesey in Wales. And some newspapers are saying the government could be about to offer them a huge funding package to keep the project alive.　
　
We don’t need new nuclear power plants. Offshore wind power is already cheaper and quicker to build than nuclear. With a mix of renewable sources and a modern electricity grid, we can have clean, reliable power instead.　
　
The government may decide on this in the next couple of weeks - let’s make sure we don’t get locked into a bad deal we can’t get out of.
